They say, in terms of reliving memories of emotions or feelings, the way the senses work differ.
A smell, invokes the strongest memory of feelings followed by a sound, then the sight.

Smells dont usually invoke positive memories, to me at least haahaa.

So, sounds appeal most. Songs especially.
Well, on a cold rainy day where you feel dreary and all, listening to Se7en's La la la, just brings back the nice-est feelings ever. I wonder why? But there are times your goosebumps rise when you hear a nice song. Overexaggerating? Try it. Haahaa.
